October is one of my favorite months! I love the smell of autumn trees, rustling and changing colors, and it’s my daughter Felicia’s birth month as is mine, which our family celebrates with much joy.
Speaking of October, my City of West Hollywood will soon hold an elaborate Halloween Carnaval. This is one of the most unique Halloween gatherings in the world. With an estimated attendance of approximately 500,000 people, the Halloween Carnaval is the world’s largest Halloween festivity. Akin to Times Square in New York City on New Year’s Eve, it is one of Southern California’s largest events of any kind proving that Halloween is not just for kids anymore. The event boggles my mind! Here’s a few pics from my Halloween’s past that I hope you enjoy.
Revelers across the country young and old will be enjoying the holiday though not without risk. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Halloween is one of the deadliest nights of the year due with drivers operating under the influence of alcohol and marijuana, and I thought it best to devote time to How to Party Without Regrets and Be Scary Safe.
Whether you’re at home baking wicked witch sandwich cookies or participating in your own Halloween Carnaval fun, I hope you have a safe holiday.
