Thanksgiving Gratitude

Let’s be real – for years our family has stuck to this pre-dinner gratitude ritual at Thanksgiving that’s sparked everything from a teen’s and even adults’ elaborate eye-rolls to our 8-year-olds’ squirming “Can we eat now?” whispers. But here’s the thing: despite the fidgeting and not-so-subtle glances at the food (and yes, we’ve had plenty), this pause before diving into the turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, and mashed potatoes has somehow managed to create some of our most honest, and sometimes surprisingly hilarious, family moments. Reflecting on an 80th Birthday This year, my heart overflows with joy as I reflect on celebrating my beloved husband’s 80th birthday. Known affectionately as Mr. WADAS, his milestone celebration brought together the threads of our lives – from playful rounds on the golf simulator to the nostalgic sounds of Frank Sinatra, and even a whimsical motorcycle ice cream truck. The day was made perfect by the presence of his sisters, sons, and grandchildren, alongside my daughters and friends both old and new.
